Construction Anticipated to Stop Friday, June 30

Thank you for your cooperation and patience while construction crews are working to complete infrastructure and streetscape improvements on Glenview Road. Due to the lack of a state budget agreement, all construction projects with State/Federal funding have been instructed to suspend construction on Friday, June 30 until a budget or other spending measure is passed by legislators.

The Glenview Road Streetscape project includes State/Federal funding; therefore, construction is anticipated to stop this Friday. The Village of Glenview has taken the following actions to prepare for the pending construction work suspension:
  • Ongoing underground work that requires the need for the Dewes Street detour is being expedited by the contractor with the goal of substantial completion by Friday, June 30 at 3 p.m. This will allow the roadway to be reopened before the shutdown, without the need to reinstate the detour again at a later time after work is allowed to resume.
  • If weather or other delays negatively impact the timing of the underground work completion as outlined in the above item, the roadway will be temporarily restored and the detour will be taken down by Friday, June 30 at 3 p.m. allowing two-way traffic along Glenview Road during the shutdown period.
  • Sidewalks will be restored to a temporary or permanent condition, so that pedestrian travel ways are fully accessible along both sides of the street during the shutdown period.
  • Idled equipment and materials that remain onsite will be moved to a safe and secure location, away from the travel ways and business entrances to the extent possible.
The Village of Glenview will continue to monitor the situation and provide regular updates.
